Stars past and present to descend on NBA Fan Zone in Manchester

The fun and excitement of the NBA will descend on The Printworks in Manchester for a four-day Fan Zone ahead of the NBA’s first ever game in the city, it was announced today by the NBA. Players past and present from the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder will join dance teams and mascots in a celebration of all things NBA.

The Printworks in Manchester will play host to a four-day NBA Fan Zone ahead of the first ever NBA game to be played in the city at the Phones4u Arena on October 8th.

Players past and present from the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder together with an ensemble of both sides’ dance teams and mascot will be at the event celebrating all things NBA.

NBA Global Games 2013 presented by BBVA™, sees the aforementioned teams take part in the first ever NBA game staged in the UK outside of London.

NBA Fan Zone is a free, outdoor fan festival and fans of the game will get the opportunity to meet current NBA players from the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder, as well as NBA Legends Peja Stojakovic, Vlade Divac, Dikembe Mutombo and Manchester’s own John Amaechi, who once donned the jerseys of Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, and Utah Jazz.

Fans will also be able to see exciting live performances from the Sixers and Thunder Dance Teams and team mascots. In addition, fans of all ages can enjoy interactive elements including a jersey display featuring all 30 NBA jerseys and an interactive social media wall. With music and prizing NBA Fan Zone is THE place to live and breathe the NBA.
