Northumberland Lightning on the look out for head coach

Northumberland Lightning are piecing together their side quicker than originally thought, but are still keen on scouting about for more personnel, including the coveted head coach role.

With turnout almost double what Lightning had expected, and a considerable number of newcomers to playing the game, coach Eric Walker, who has a wealth of playing experience in both the USA and Europe.

Despite the great turnout, the team’s call to arms is very much continuing as it hopes to get everyone in the local area, and even further afield, who has a great passion for the game involved.

Not only are they reaching out for a head coach and even more players, but also additions to the coaching staff, including offensive co-ordinator and numerous other positions.

A committee has already been formed, but the organisational roles of General Manager to oversee the whole Lightning organisation and a Youth Development Officer, are also up for grabs.

The interest from the female population has also piqued the idea for a women’s team, and there is also a big request for other women to come on board to make this a reality.

Sponsorship is also another area that the Northumberland side, who are looking to join the BAFANL by 2015/16, are focusing on, alongside the all important roster recruitment drive.
