Devils to take on Danes and Blaze in preseason

The Cardiff Devils have today announced a preseason tournament with Danish Elite League Team Esbjerg and the Coventry Blaze.

The Devils will be hosting Esbjerg in Cardiff Bay on Saturday 31st August, with the Blaze visiting on Wednesday 4th September in a mini cup competition.

Many Cardiff fans have previously expressed their desire for a preseason game with a team from outside the UK, so this announcement is sure to sit well with the Welsh fans. It promises to be an exciting and competitive tournament, with the Danish Elite League being of similar standard to the EIHL. Add to this an exciting match against fierce rivals Coventry Blaze and it is sure to be a sell out.

Devils Managing Director Brent Pope commented on DevilsTV: “Its exciting news, we’ve been building on it all summer to make it happen and it’s just been confirmed we will be hosting them alongside the Coventry Blaze.”

Tickets for this event are expected to be on sale in early August.

The season officially begins on Saturday 7th September with the Devils visiting the Fife Flyers and a home match the following evening against the Belfast Giants.
