Howard chooses Houston Rockets

Dwight Howard late Friday night in Houston (early Saturday morning in the UK), confirmed what many had suspected and announced he will be joining up with James Harden and the rest of the Rockets for the 2013-14 NBA season.

After the Lakers tweeted on their official account that they had been informed Howard “would not return”, the player revealed the news of where he would be through his account, saying he was “excited” and thanked the Lakers and their fans for the past season.

Facebook and Twitter were awash with claims that Howard had been spotted at Houston Airport before the announcement, which came after Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon on Wednesday, according to ThePostGame.com, spoke of his belief that the Rockets had an “85% chance” of getting their man after a star-studded line-up, including Olajuwon as well as Clyde Drexler, was sent by Houston to speak with the center on Monday in LA.

85% though now looks instead to be nailed on, however he still cannot officially sign until July 10th, but with his Twitter avatar changed to him donning a Rockets jersey, and Howard following up with a snap on Instagram of himself and Harden, Houston would have a serious problem if any bumps in the road came along before pen can be put to paper.
