Riders sign american import Fraley (with video)

The Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders confirmed today that they have signed former Austin Peay University centre, John Fraley.

Fraley comes to the UK having spent four years in the Ohio Valley Conference where he averaged 11.8 ppg, 8.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. His numbers increased every season he was at Austin Peay.

Riders Head Coach told www.leicesterriders.co.uk that he was excited about his new 6’8 signing:

““We are looking forward to working with John, he is a guy that is very talented and has shown that by performing very well at university in the tough Ohio Valley Conference.

“He has proven himself to be an exceptional rebounder and has been very productive finisher on the offensive end.”

Fraley, 24, is the Riders only American import player to-date. As confirmed on the official Riders site, Fraley’s arrival in Leicester, signals the end of Brett Royster’s BBL career with the Riders.

Royster experienced a disjointed 2011/12 in the BBL due to an ongoing injury. In 28 games, Royster averaged 6.6ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.5bpg.
