Knights fall foul to Magic in friendly but add new signing

Josh Rolls-Tyson has become the latest addition to the line-up of BBL newcomers, the Birmingham Knights, but despite his arrival, Manchester Magic were the victors in Knights’ second pre-season friendly.

The 6′ 8″ forward, who for the past two years has been studying and playing for Butte Community College, CA., made 16 points in the 81-70 loss to Magic, as Martin Gayle top scored with 19, and Emile Hopkins claiming a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Josh had this to say about signing with his hometown team: “I’m very excited to have signed with the Birmingham Knights, not only do I get to represent a city which raised me but also play alongside great talent whom I’ve played with and/or against in previous years.

“My two years at Junior College has been a great training ground,” said Rolls-Tyson, who will be making his first foray in the BBL with Birmingham.

Rolls-Tyson also spoke about how he has prepared so far under the watch of Head Coach Paul Douglas: “He is a great person and Coach who I enjoy working with, has a tangible personality and great vision for the success we can achieve. The coaching staff, team and I are dedicated, poised and ambitious about this season. This is a great opportunity for Birmingham, Basketball, and all of us taking part so be sure to come support your Knights!!”
