Giants Host Bolzano in Pre-Season Double Header

HC Bolzano-Bozen Foxes, the most successful team in Italian Ice Hockey history will be visiting the Odyssey Arena to take on the Stena Line Belfast Giants in back to back pre-season games on the weekend of Saturday August 31st and Sunday September 1st.

With 19 championships to boast in the Italian League since their inception in 1933, Bolzano will compete this season in the top Austrian Hockey League (EBEL), a league comprised of mainly Austrian teams but also has representation from Slovakia, Czech Republic and now Italy.

Last season Bolzano progressed to the finals of the IIHF Continental Cup, finishing undefeated in their qualification round, including a win over the Landshut Cannibals who progressed from the earlier qualification round after defeating the Giants.

As well as being a challenging pre-season test for the team, this weekend will also provide fans with an opportunity to engage with the new players and to experience for the first time the exciting new renovations and investment in the Odyssey Arena.
