Deniset makes welcome return to Belfast

The Stena Line Belfast Giants are pleased to announce the signing of forward Paul Deniset for the remainder of the season.

Deniset played for the Giants in the 2008/09 season, scoring 38 goals and 48 assists for 86 points in 51 games played.  That season, Deniset played on the top forward line for the Giants, leading the team to two titles – the Challenge Cup and the British Knock Out Cup.  The following season he moved onto the top league in Denmark with Aalborg Hockey Club scoring 19 goals and 21 assists for 40 points in 32 games.  Last season he starred for Amiens in the top French League again putting up impressive numbers with 24 goals and 28 assists for 52 points in 30 games.

General Manager Todd Kelman is pleased to get Deniset back in Belfast.

“We are very pleased to get Paul back in Belfast for the rest of the season.  He is going to fit in well with this team.  He was one of the top players in the Elite League when he was here before and was part of two championships in Belfast.”

“Our guys have stepped up in a big way this season, particularly as of late when we have been playing short staffed.  Deniset is coming into a very good team with a group of guys that want to win a championship together.  I know Paul very well and I know he will fit in perfectly with this group of guys, which is vital when you bring in someone new halfway through the season.”

Deniset will make his return to the Giants lineup this weekend for the double header against the Coventry Blaze. The Giants and Blaze face off at 7:30pm on Friday Night and 7:00pm on Saturday Night.  Both games are at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.
