Cardiff Devils 2 Belfast Giants 6

Having missed the first eleven games of the season, Jon Pelle made his debut for Belfast against the team he played with last season. Even with a long layoff, he has lost none of his firepower as he netted a hat trick.

Pelle opened the scoring at 5.41 with a powerplay marker to put the visitors in front. The hosts got back on level terms with a strike from Brad Voth at 13.27 and that was how it finished after the first period.

The Giants took a grip of the game in the second period with Pelle getting his second within the first minutes to give the Giants the lead back. Scott Dobben did get another marker for the Devils at 31.42 to make it two apiece.

However, two powerplay goals in the last two minutes gave the Giants a two-goal lead. The first of these came at 38.07 from Jeff Mason and then Pelle completed his hat trick at 39.25.

A goal from Derek LeBlanc at 41.53 saw the Giants go nap and then at 47.53 Adam Keefe completed the scoring on the night to make it 11 straight win for the Giants.
