BBL players of the week – week 11

We publish our players of the week from our writers who got to live games over the last seven days.

Keith Firmin – Attended Leicester Riders  v Durham Wildcats

Ayron Hardy – What more is there to say about a man who is consistently one of the top scorers for a talent laden Riders team? He once again went all ‘video game mode’, this time against the Durham Wildcats, filling up the stats columns quicker than Father Christmas fills up stockings. An early season contender for MVP.

Rob Jeffries – Attended Cheshire Jets v MK Lions

Bill Cole – It is such a shame he isn’t in the starting five of the BBL’s pick of the week more often due to their methods, but he was everywhere on court, stepping it right up with such a short side. After the game, as I’m sure anyone at the Northgate will agree, he looks like he’s put it all out on the floor and the holiday break will be good for him to recharge his batteries.

Demarius Bolds – Awesome, unstoppable, and “arrogant” in how he was going inside to the basket versus Cheshire. He didn’t seem too bothered who was in his way to make his shot count. That kind of play, and at both ends of the court lines players up for MVP of the season.

Callum Carson – Attended Glasgow Rocks v Guildford Heat

Mychal Green –  The Green Machine kept ticking along with a stellar 32 point performance for the Rocks against Guildford on Sunday, 21 of which came in the second quarter. As if that wasn’t enough, he added 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and a block in yet another impressive all-round display.

Drew Lasker – Despite only being the Heat’s third highest scorer with 17 points, Lasker was tough to handle for the Rocks defence and was the catalyst behind a terrific first quarter display that saw the Heat take an 8 point lead. 4 of 6 from 2 point range, along with 5 rebounds, Lasker did all he could in a losing effort.
