BBL Betting: Friday 14th December

Three Friday night delights from the BBL Championship tonight, and there’s plenty of opportunity to make some nice wonga just in time for Christmas!

Starting off with the big North West clash of Giants against Phoenix. The last meeting between the pair saw a dramatic end to proceedings at the Northgate Arena, thanks to Chez Marks’ last gasp two-pointer/three-pointer. It was whilst Cheshire were fighting for survival off court that this result occurred and Giants’ head coach, Jeff Jones, was left infuriated that the time-out he had asked for was not heard at the death.

With Marks having returned home early this week for Christmas and also to recuperate longer from a hand injury that he has been playing with, and with Manchester having finally ended their dire losing streak, we are in for possibly another exciting, and extremely close, derby match-up, one which Cheshire coach, Matt Lloyd, thinks is definitely a four point win in the race for the playoffs…maybe with things so tight, we could see a win by just a basket again?

Giants to win by 1-3pts – 17/2 @ William Hill

Next up are Sheffield Sharks entertaining Glasgow Rocks, where the Scottish side have a prime chance to exact revenge for their BBL Cup defeat, and to also get back on track after back-to-back losses against Leicester and Cheshire. For the South Yorkshire side, their season has been full of ups and downs; the latest being the 50-point aggregate loss to Leicester in the BBL Cup semi-finals.  Could this possibly be the right fixture to give them a boost and keep up with Phoenix and Giants? I have my doubts and see Glasgow getting dishing out some payback (and some value with my tip rather than the straight outright win)

Glasgow/Glasgow (HT/FT) – 23/20 @ William Hill

Finally, we see Surrey Heat take a trip north to Sport Central and Newcastle Eagles, where a third loss of the season will be felt for one of these sides at the end of play; question is who?

After just squeezing out the victory over Plymouth last weekend to prevent back-to-back losses, Newcastle will be hoping Kareem Maddox is firing on all cylinders, whilst the Holmes’ for Heat have been putting in the minutes, the visitors will be anxious to see if Peter Simek can be available and take out some height advantage.

Something in my bones tells me that Eagles will be fired up for this one, and that after last week’s shake-up, they will be back on form.

Newcastle to win – 4/9 @ William Hill

You will have perhaps noticed that all my tips tonight are from William Hill. A treble on these comes off at 57/2 – fantastic chance there, but as we all know, nothing is ever guaranteed!
