The Wrap-Up: Grizz get win and Nets lose – again

Keith Firmin brings you The Wrap-Up on all of last night’s NBA games including, Memphis’ big road win and Westbrook’s ankle breaker.

Portland @ Brooklyn

It’s seven wins straight for the Blazers after their 108-98 win over the beat-up Nets. Portland managed to hold the Nets to only 36.5% shooting from the field while hitting over 50% of their own shots. LaMarcus Aldridge recorded 27 points and eight rebounds in the win. The Nets were once again without Brook Lopez, Andrei Kirilenko and Deron Williams. Joel Freeland played 18 minutes and had four points and four boards.

Charlotte @ Chicago

The Bulls squeaked by the Bobcats, 81-86, thanks to a game-high 21 points from Luol Deng. Carlos Boozer contributed 12 points and 17 rebounds in the win. Derrick Rose, still working off the rust from his year out of the game with injury, played 30 minutes, had 12 points and five assists. Jeff Taylor top scored for the Bobcats with 20.

Denver @ Oklahoma

The Thunder needed every point of Durant and Westbrook’s combined 68 points, as they saw off the Nuggets, 115-113. Ty Lawson had 29 points for the Nuggets but his team’s 58.1% FT shooting was too much to overcome. J.J Hickson had an outstanding 18 points and 19 rebounds in defeat.

Philadelphia @ Dallas

The Mavericks edged a close one against the 76ers, eventually seeing them off 97-94. Monta Ellis led the Mavs with 24 points while Dirk added 20 points of his own. Both players finished with double-doubles. Evan Turner flirted with a triple-double as he had 26 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.

Golden State @ Utah

Stephen Curry’s 22 points helped the Warriors see off the Jazz for the second time in three nights, 98-87. David Lee chipped in 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Memphis @ Los Angeles Clippers

The Grizzlies won a big one on the road in LA, beating their Western Conference rivals, 106-102. Zach Randolph had a monster line of 26 points and 15 rebounds, while front court partner, Marc Gasol, approached a triple-double of 23 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Chris Paul had his 11th straight double-double to start the season and Blake Griffin scored 23 points. Tony Allen was ejected for kicking CP3 in the face.
