Neilson wants fans to Back Our Boys ahead of Worlds

Nottingham Panthers coach, and Great Britain assistant coach, Corey Neilson is urging supporters to give Great Britain a great send-off ahead of the World Championship (Division 1B) in Lithuania.

Neilson, also a former GB national team member, is keen to see as many fans as possible turn out and support the upcoming home internationals with Netherlands.

GB go head-to-head with Netherlands in Ice Sheffield (7:30pm) on Saturday 12th April and the two sides meet again a day later in the Skydome in Coventry (5:15pm).

“This is great preparation ahead of the World Championship and I hope the two games get great backing,“ said Neilson.

“It is not often you get the chance to see international matches in the UK and they will be two great games for sure.

“Netherlands are a good side and will provide stern opposition.

“It is well known that Panthers fans are a loyal group of fans and it would be great to see everyone turn out to support the Panthers GB contingent and, of course, the rest of the GB squad.

“It would be great if fans from all round the country can come and give the guys a great send-off.

“These are exciting times for GB and I proud to be involved.“

The squad will be cut to 23 a week before the IIHF six-team World Championship tournament, where GB will face hosts Lithuania, as well as Croatia, Netherlands, Poland and Romania.
