Knights announce venue change

The opportunity to purchase season tickets for the Birmingham Knights first BBL campaign will come at midday today (Thursday 25th), however, it comes with the announcement that the Knights will NOT be playing out of the Doug Ellis Sports Centre.

North Solihull Sports Centre, Chelmsley Wood, will now play host as the venue for the Midlands team, whilst a long term viable alternative is found.

“We’re devastated after having spent the best part of seven months working towards the Doug Ellis Centre being our home venue but unfortunately we were recently made aware that the sports hall floor is not capable of carrying the seats we purchased last year” said team owner, Jo Aldridge.

“The team at Doug Ellis continue to support the guys in provision of training facilities and we would hope to keep a positive relationship with them and explore other options but for now we must make sure we have somewhere to play.”

“I really hope the fans come out and demonstrate their support by buying a season ticket,” said Team owner, Jo Aldridge. “Having worked on building the team for the last two years it’s all finally becoming a reality and although we still face a number of challenges along the way, this makes things very real for us now. We can’t wait for the first home game and an opportunity to thank people for their support by providing a great night’s entertainment!”

Season tickets will be released at 10:30am today and individual tickets for fixtures will be available to follow shortly.
