If the NFL playoffs were today – NFC edition

The NFC playoff race is coming down to quite a finish with just two weeks left in the regular season. Only one team has locked down a playoff place, and seeding’s are far from determined as three division races are yet to be decided.

Seattle need just one more win to secure the number one seed, which could prove vital through January. In the South it comes down to New Orleans and Carolina, they are tied at 10-4 and play this coming Sunday, the loser might lose out completely on the playoffs. In the North and East its a bit more clear cut as far as playoff contenders go as only the division winner will get in, which means there’s only room for two out of five teams, currently those in the box seat are Chicago and Philadelphia.

The reason why the Saints and Panthers could miss out is the consistent play of Arizona. They could spoil their party and even that of San Francisco given that those two meet on the last day of the season. Green Bay, Detroit and Dallas are currently on the outside looking in, after this weekend their divisions could be won, but it looks quite likely that we could see two division winner takes all games in week 17 with Dallas hosting the Eagles and Green Bay going to Chicago.

Below are the current seeding’s with the game left for each team.
